Life Skills

Our precious boy will be busy while I’m in Orlando.

He will be learning life skills, such as spackling, sanding and painting.

Those will come in handy later in life when he decides, in his anger, to take a small screwdriver and drill holes in the guest bathroom wall. Again.

And, if I know Daddy like I know Daddy, he will also find something for Mr. Boy to do that not only keeps him busy, but wears him out physically. Because Daddy has always been a hard worker, and desires to teach his son this same ethic.

Not only that, when Mr. Boy is busy/tired, he doesn’t have time to dream up destructive things to do. Like putting holes in the bathroom wall. In anger for Momma going away. For Aunt Ida dying. For his foundation having been shaken. For Momma going to therapy with him yesterday. For being caught lying about school work/homework repeatedly.

I have a feeling Mr. Boy won’t have time to miss his Momma at all. And in the process of working hard while she is gone, he may work through some of that anger he is harboring in his heart.

Just sayin’.

A hair brush was the tool of choice at my house. Yes, a hair brush. Kid beat large holes in the bathroom wall with a hair brush...and pulled all the hooks out of the walls.

((((Diana)))). We had to take everything off hooks in there. He would swipe the hooks for his own entertainment pleasure.
